Consumer Rights
Consumers have the right to:
Request access to their health care records from the licensee
Contact the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC)
File a consumer complaint with the Office of the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division
Requesting Mental Health Care Records
Consumers may request access to their health care records maintained by this practice.
You have the right to request a copy of your mental health care records. To obtain your records, submit a written request to your mental health care provider. This is in accordance with Texas Health & Safety Code § 611.0045. You may submit your request:

Requests are processed in accordance with applicable state and federal law.
Providers have 15 days to respond to your written request.
Fees may apply as permitted by law.

Filing a Consumer Complaint
